TAGBILARAN CITY – All systems go for the holding of the 15th version of the Ubi festival today with the opening program to be held at Galleria Luisa, along Gallares Street in this city. The three-day festival banners the theme in vernacular, “Ubing Bol-anon, Tubag sa Kagutom ug sa Nagka-usab nga Panahon.” A motorcade will start at Office of the Provincial Office at Capitol annex to J. A. Clarin street, north CPG avenue, then on its way to Maria Clara street to Gallares street to Galeria Luisa.
It will have Rep. Rene Relampagos (1st dist), Gov. Edgar Chatto and Vice-Gov. Concepvcion Lim who lead provincial officials along with provincial board member and agriculture committee chair Atty. Abeleon Damalerio, OIC provincial agriculturist Larry Pamugas and ATI 7 director Dr. Carolyn May Daquio during the opening program first day.
Regional director Angel Enriquez of the Department of Agriculture 7 will keynote the affair at Plaza Rizal where the exhibits are showcased. Ribbon cutting will follow after the program.
Exhibits of the Ubi harvest will be done starting today through Friday.
As expected, constests of Ubi, dubbed “Pinaka” including Best booth and highest sales volume and literary musical will also highlight the event, organizers said. Consultation with Ubi growers will be done and closing program during the third day of the festivities.
