INABANGA, Bohol – A total of 25 deaths as a result of shooting incidents in the towns have been documented during March-June period, PNP provincial director Col Dennis Agustin said during Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting here yesterday. The shooting incidents include 18 injured during the same period. But the names of victims were not divulged nor the motive of the killings.
Aside from Tagbilaran which posted six for deaths and six (6) for injury, Carmen had the highest shooting with one injured and five (5) dead, Agustin said. Inabanga posted four (4) deaths and one injury during the same period; Talibon, 2 injured and one dead; Buenavista, Calape, one apiece (death and injury); Clarin, two dead; Danao, two injured; Batuan and Dagohoy, one injured.
The towns of Dauis, Bien-Unido, Corella, Getafe and Tubigon had one death apiece. San Isidro and Ubay, one injured apiece. Meanwhile, police arrested a total of 24 wanted persons while five others gave themselves up durig the month of May.
Just recently, police identified the latest victim of killing as one Reynaldo Pocoy, 37, alias “Ramine” and said to be single and resident of Sta. Cruz, Poblacion III in Tagbilaran city.
Initial investigation said that Pocoy was shot to death at around 9:40 last night while taking his dinner at Haydee’s Barbecue Hauz along Tamblot street in this city.
A witness account bared that two hooded men riding in tandem using an XRM black motorcycle wothout license plate barged into the restaurant and told the rest of the customers they just wanted one person. Following the statement of one of the suspects, burst of gunfires were shot hitting Pocoy who was seated just beside the concrete wall. (rvo)
