TAGBILARAN CITY – An owner of small fishing boat has been a victim of boat theft, not once or twice, but five times already with the latest yesterday.
Based on police record, one Lito Magdugo Paredes, 57 years old, married, fisherman and a resident of barangay Mansasa District, reported that his fishing boat moored nearby Bolok-bolok spring of said place was nowhere to be found.
He told police that this was the fifth time that he was robbed of his fishing boat.
When he was about to go fishing yesterday at past four in the afternoon, he was shocked to discover that his small boat, about 12 feet long, painted with orange/white combination moored at said spring was already gone, paredes said.
He believed that his boat was stolen, he told the police.
Fishing boat thievery appeared to be prevalent in this place.
Paredes said that his fellow fishers also were victims of this modus operandi.
His fellow fishers —- Berto Piad, Felipe Allasgo, Ceferino Paredes Jr. and John Lee Paredes also lost their small boats to perpetrators who were not known yet.
