CEBU CITY – Bohol’s tourist arrivals is lower than Negors Oriental, partial data for January this year from Department of Tourism (DOT) furnished to DYTR bared. The same figures showed that tourist arrivals in Central Visayas, including Bohol. Arrivals of Filipino nationality category in Bohol had 18,970 while that of Negros Oriental, 31,655. Cebu got the biggest pie with 129,636 and Siquijor, 1,226. The total for Janaury this year is 181,487 from last year’s 192,079 or a drop of -5.5%.
According to DOT, “guest arrivals” for the region totalled to 362,961 or up to 10.44% from last year’s 328,658. But Bohol is still lags behind with 32,659 compared to Negros Oriental, 42,117. Cebu had a total of 284,627 and Siquijor 3,558.
Bohol’s total Philippine resident/arrivals was 19,000 lower than Nrgros Oriental’s 32,547. Cebu posted 130,526 and Siquijor, 1,226. Central Visayas’ total hilippine residents/arrivals was 183,299 lower than last year’s 196,059 or a drop of -6.5%, DOT said.
Total Non-Philippine residents/arrivals for Bohol was 13,627 higher than Negros Oriental’s 9,102. Cebu still th leading ins his category of arrivals with 152,919 and Siquijor’s 2,332. Total for Central Visayas this year was 177,980 or 35.05% up, higher than last year’s 131,787.
Total Central Visayas’ Filipino overseas arrivals was 1,682 or up to 107.14%, higher than 812 in 2014, it said.
Bohol had only 32 compared to Negros Oriental’s 468. Cebu also dominated this category with 1,182 and Siquijor, none. (rvo)
