WILL former Carmen Mayor Conchita “Che” Toribio delos Reyes join the Liberal Party to which her former arch-rival, Gov. Edgar Chatto, belongs?
This question surfaced lately following her uploading of a photo on facebook account that showed her, former senator Ping Lacson and former Cavite Gov. Maliksi presumably in her residence in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Maliksi, the chair of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) recently appointed, is a Liberal party stalwart under President Benigno S. Aquino III, reports said.
A reliable source told Bohol News Today recently that Delos Reyes would likely to jump ship from Vice-Pres. Jojo Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance (UNA). But he did not provide details on why she’d probably abandon UNA and join LP, however.
Unconfirmed reports also said that Delos Reyes is eyeing to be aligned with Lacson once the latter decides to throw his hat in the presidential derby in May 9, 2016 general elections.
Lacson could be a “dark horse” for P-Noy to endorse when time comes if ever DILG Sec. Mar Roxas would not be able to catch up with the surveys that put his apparent opponnent, VP Binay, always on top.
BNT tried but failed to contact Delos Reyes to confirm the report of her plan to join LP.
Another source said that Delos Reyes is in the U.S. with her family.
