MANILA – If a picture paints a thousand words then why can’t the photos of then DILG boss Mar Roxas and former Carmen Mayor Che delos Reyes uploaded in facebook tell a story. But the question is that is the reported Delos Reyes’ joining with LP in the works already? Who knows, said a former loyalist of Delos Reyes, who did not make it to the gubernatorial race against the incumbent Gov. Edgar Chatto in 2013. One of the photos showed Delos Reyes’s holding the arm of Mar Roxas, who just anointed by P-Noy to become the LP’s standard bearer in the presidential race next year.
The reported “bash” of the LP is not actually a celebration but some sort of a gathering of local officials or the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) attended mostly by municipal mayors of the country, including Bohol, with the presence of the newly-anointed Mar Roxas, said a mayor.
Delos Reyes’ entry into the LP’s sort of a celebration may be construed that she’s “in” already, the source said.
But the report reaching Bohol News Today did not confirm nor deny that Delos Reyes intends to shift party affiliation preferably with the LP.
Earlier, BNT tried but failed to get the side of Delos Reyes, who just kept mum on the report of her entry to LP.
The report also said that she shifted to former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, who is said to be close to P-Noy leaving Vice-President Jejomar Binay in limbo. Lacson reportedly is eyeing for presidency on 2016 when P-Noy steps down but no word from him yet.
With the report of Delos Reyes to affiliate with the ruling party, local LP stalwarts were quick to deny her as reported on the weekly paper.
Delos Reyes is eyeing to contest incumbent Congressman Arthur C. Yap. And this she confirmed when she visited Rep. Aris Aumentado residence during the May fiesta celebration of this city.
Delos Reyes’ trusted lieutenants said that everything is all set for her to gun for congresswoman in the third district against Yap, who was unopposed in 2010 and 2013 elections.
If Delos Reyes has been crisscrossing the 19 towns to prepare for her electoral bid in the district, Yap also activated his AYO or Arthur Yap Organization, taking sorties in mostly barangays, a municipal mayor told BNT but asked not to be identified. (rvo)
