TAGBILARAN CITY – Police authorities here led by police chief George Vale did not sleep in their tasks and has filed voluminous cases of various offenses. Illegal drugs and theft topped the list with 81 cases apiece. This is followed by violence against women/children with 44; estafa, 22; robbery, 21; physical injuries, 19 and BP No. 6, 17. Others include rape in violation of RA No. 8353 with 16 cases; murder, child abuse (RA No. 7610) and illegal possession of firearms, 15 apiece; malicious mischief, 13; carnapping, 12; and illegal gambling and trespassing, nine apiece.
Barangays Poblacion II and Cogon in the city top the list in the number in the prevalence of crimes in 2014 with more than 350 cases. This surfaced during the meeting of the police advisory council meeting yesterday with the presence of police chief George Vale and council chair Atty. Lord Marapao IV. Came in next is barangay Dao with close to 100; Poblacion I, 50; Booy, 55; Bool, 30+; Dampas, 150; Manga and Mansasa, 40 apiece; Poblacion, 125; Taloto, 50; San Isidro, 20; and Ubujan and Tiptip, 20+ apiece.
