TAGBILARAN CITY – City police authorities here have not determine yet what were the motives of killings last week but different angles such as drug-related and thievery, are being considered. Police report had it that some eleven shooting incidents took place here and some towns even before the month of November ends. With these figures, police authorities appeared to be still clueless on the motives, except that illegal drugs trade is the common to most of the incidents.
Insinuation that the shooting incidents were the handiwork of vigilantes was not clear yet. Earlier, Capitol officials ruled this out as no basis. The latest victim was identified as one Geil Hilario Racho, alias “Amahong” of legal age, a resident here. He sustained gunshot wounds on his right shoulder after he was shot at past seven Nov. 28, 2015 night along Tamblot street.
Last Friday, (Nov. 27) at past 10 pm along J. P. Rizal street in this city, Marcelito Araco, 29, Alias “Litoy,” married and a resident of Tamblot street in this city was gunned down here that some residents considered as a killing field posted in social media.
Racho is the fifth victim of shooting and the 4th death, one of whom sustained gunshot wounds and landed in the hospital for medical treatment ina spate of shooting incidents last week. Police identified the victim as one Marcelito Araco, 29, Alias “Litoy,” married and a resident of Tamblot street in this city.
Early of last week (Nov. 23, 2015), a hot pursuit operation ended with dead bodies of Kent Animas, a resident of Maribojoc town and Reynan Corporal, alias “Sadam” of barangay Dipatlong of the same town.
Both were fatally hit on their heads after several minutes of exchange of gunfire at an apartment, barangay Tiptip, this city. Two of their companions escaped police dragnet.
Based on police initial investigation, recovered from the possession of Animas and Corporal were a bag containing medium size cellophane of suspected shabu ang other sachets of the same; Php34,000 cash; two gold necklaces; and several ammunition of handguns — 38 and one .22 caliber black widow; and the two motorcycle — Honda black-white XRM and black Honda Wave 125.
Another was Zaldy Mendoza, of legal age and a native of Cebu City and a former worker of PCCK Stockyard was shot and wounded on the same day (Nov 23) that Animas and Corporal died. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his head and chest.
The victim had several aliases based on his different identification recovered from his possession. He is also known as Domingo Talisic Ybañez of Kauswagan, Trindiad town and Jerson P. Laurito based on a Palawan Suki Card. (rvo)
