TAGBILARAN CITY – The Committee on Good Government of the provincial board has bared government officials, either they’re complainants or respondents, who are involved in various violations and facing cases filed with the Office of the Ombudsman for the Visayas. Board Member Tomas D. Abapo, Jr., committee chairman, reported this during the regular session last Friday. Abapo has also made known the committee’s action and status of 16 different cases.
These cases include the following: Mayor Ma. Fe Piezas versus Vice-Mayor Elpidio Bonita of Guindulman, Bohol for “alleged misconduct in office and abuse of authority;” Talibon Arena and Company, a cockpit operator against Sangguniang Bayan of Talibon for enacting a Resolution “endorsing the grant of permit to barangay San Roque, Talibon, to hold cockfighting in open places and inconsistent with the provisions of cockfighting Law, or P.D. 499 and P.D. 1802, creating the Philippines Gamefowl Commission; and Guindulman Mayor Ma. Fe Piezas versus Jagna Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla for the latter’s “alleged failure to comply with his promise to pay his pecuniary obligation.”
Complainant Mr. Rolando Ramos, Jagna Land Transportation Office against Jagna Vice-Mayor Bonifacio Virtudes for “violations of Anti-Red Tape Act and Republic Act No. 6713 known as Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials;” Isagani Oliverio versus Sagbayan Mayor Ricardo Suarez and Angelino Comamao against Suarez and Ms. Municipal assessor Meriam Lauron of Sagbayan for “alleged violations of par. B professionalism in the discharge of duties by public officials, par. c justness and sincerity to the people at all times; par e responsiveness to the public needs under Republic Act No. 6713 known as Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials.
Complainant Elmer Amazon Namocat, Poblaion Bilar Bohol against Mayor Norman Palacio, vice-mayor and Sb members of Bilar town for alleged violation of PD 449, Cockfighting Law and Republic Act No. 6713 known as Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials; Atty. Aquilino Felicitas versus Vice-Mayor Angelina Simacio of Anda, Bohol for alleged violation of par. c justness and sincerity to the people at all times; par e responsiveness to the public needs under Republic Act No. 6713 known as Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials; Mr. Danilo Tudla of Dampas, Tagbilaran City against Municipal councilor Paul John Halasan of Dimiao, Bohol for alleged abuse of authority.
Anonymous versus Tubigon Mayor Marlon Amila that “LGU Tubigon received assistance from National Housing Authority (NHA) to provide housing materials for the repair of their houses of families already identified by the LGU. It further alleges that the Mayor’s team conducted another survey and that they crashed out some names;” and Getafe Vice-Mayor Simeon Torreon against Hon. Cary Camacho, serving as the President of the Liga ng mga Barangay of Getafe for grave misconduct; Hon. Virgilio Autida and Hon. Celso Padillo, Jr. versus Mayor Nino Rey Boniel of Bien-Unido, Bohol.
Cases considered closed as far as SP is concerned, Abapo said, include the following: Simeon Torreon of Getafe, Bohol against Mr, Cydon Camacho of same town for “grave misconduct allegedly committed by respondent for challenging complainant to a fist fight; and complainant Danilo S. Cal and Ramoncita Cabusao, both of Bilar, Bohol against Mayor Norman Palacio, Vice-Mayor Arnold Calamba, SM member Manuel Jayectin mun. accountant Loreto Doria, municipal engineer Jesus Omac and SB member Helen Sarmiento, all o Bilar, Bohol for alleged violation of section 60c, dishonesty, oppression, misconduct in office, gross negligence or dereliction of duty of RA 7160. Also considered closed are the following Ganzon versus Adiong; and Namocat versus Fuertes and others
