TAGBILARAN CITY.Full force of the law shall be strictly implemented against those colorums or vehicles for hire operating without registration or documents supporting in plying their routes, newly-installed Land Transportation Office (LTO) registrar Erwin Patalingjug said in radio interview yesterday. Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) thru LTO regional office has designated Patalingjug as city?s LTO registrar vice Samuel Alabat who is now assigned in LTO Jagna town and Angeles Enoc for LTO Talibon extension office. He said that aside from enforcing the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) of
LTO and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), colorums are disadvantageous to legitimate ones.
He said that his team with LTFRB personnel will start implementing the order sometime next month. Under the said JAO, a million-peso fine is slapped against colorums. But he admitted that they still lack personnel in doing the implementation. Meanwhile, Patalingjug urged clients to avoid being entertained by what is commonly called ?fixers? lurking within the LTO vicinity. He said that clients should look for those LTO personnel who wear uniforms and identification cards so their transactions with the LTO would be sped up. It is a common knowledge that ?fixers? offer fast processing of LTO-related
transactions but preying victims by asking sums that are excessive than what is supposedly to be the official rates imposed by the said office.
