CLARIN, Bohol – Mayor Allen Ray Z. Piezas of this progressive port town said that different activities are being lined up for the town’s annual celebration on September 28-29, 2015 with the opening salvo in fluvial parade participated in by local government unit here and the church and other sectors.
Mayor Piezas said in an interview yesterday that included in the activities are the following: Anythign Goes with LGU as the main sponsor; “Si San Miguel sa Akong Kinabuhi” by PPC and PMSC; Dance Sports by Liga ng mga Barangay; Larga: Uli Tapok sa Hudyaka by Bohol Island State University; AfterShock 2 by Provincial, National, and private sectors; and Mayor’s Cup 1 Commercial basketball League in cooperation with Smart by Mayor Piezas Smart Corp.
Others include: Championship 1 Mayor’s Cup; Agro-Fair and Best Dressed Doggy by the municipal government; Karambola, Dog castration, livestock raising promotion and piglet catching; Department of Education Potpourri by DepEd, CNSF and NHS; A NIght to Remember featuring Romy Tarsier Junior the number one comedian in Cebu and others; Potpourri of Songs and Dances by mater Dei College; Music Icon From Dubai and Mass Demonstration by DepEd and BISU; and Grand Disco by Beer Na Beer featuring Center Stage Band.
The mayor said that these (activities) were made possible thru the cooperation of the the different workers including the executive committee he created to put in place the fiesta celebration and attain success.
Meanwhile, Mayor Piezas disclosed that the public market is already completed the turnover of which would soon take place. The construction of the public market was made possible by his administration funded by a bank loan and some Php11 million from Bohol Earthquake assistance fund being infused to complete it.
The BEA-fund was spent for the wet market and completion/reconstruction of the terminal infront of the public market, the mayor said.
A chunk of Php62.5 million from BEA funds was spent for the renovation of the Sangguniang Bayan session hall, the mayor said.
Mayor Piezas also said that a counterparting scheme is applied for the improvement of the town seaport. A total of Php39 million —- Php29 million from Phil Ports Authority; Php10 million from Bottom-Up-Budgeting; and Php1.3 million from the town’s coffers — has been readied for the port renovation.
For her part, Vice-Mayor Velden Aparicio bared that the SB she leads achieves more in terms of pieces of legislation. SB Clarin is probably the only legislative body in Bohol to have a large number of resolutions and ordinances passed and enacted.
She rallied the townsfolk for their support in making fiesta celebration successful and even expressed gratitude to her constituents for their trust in her and the mayor and officials in general.
