ANGLAO, Bohol – Municipal Mayor Leonila P. Montero expressed her profound gratitude in the name of the townsfolk here to the Rotarians of Canada and Panglao Island and other volunteers with the assistance of local medical and dental specialists during the turnover of medical, dental equipment held at the gym yesterday. She said in her short message that the dental mission courtesy of the Caring Hearts Dental Society will be back next year to perform quality dental services during the turnover of medical and sports equipment.
“Your name will forever be etched in our hearts,” the mayor said, citing such act of compassion by the dental mission is appropriate “when we kissed our loved ones we have fresh breath” during the Valentines Day celebration today. The turnover ceremony was attended by the town and barangay officials led by Mayor Leonila P. Montero and Vice-Mayor Pedro Fuertes, Department of Education teachers, parents, visitors, Rep. Rene L. Relampagos, Provincial Board Member Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez and the doctors and assistants in the dental mission and those from the Provincial Health Office.
The dental mission performed by Rotary Club of Canada with the help of Rotary Club of Panglao Island ran for about three weeks benefiting more than two thousand patients. It is ecpected to end on Wednesday next week.
Those benefited from the mission were municipal and barangay employees and officials and all students and faculty members of private schools in this town.
CHDS in cooperation with Rotary World Help’s volunteers who spent their own money to come here, include Chairperson Rotary Dental Mission Elena Agala Steve Gable and wife Bonnie Gable, Dr. Francisca Valdes, Dr. Gloria Samosa, Dr. Marietta Quimbao, Dr. Mary Jane Foster, Carlotta Perez, Andrew Milne, Lorna Simms, Nancy Bantug, Spike Alegro, Francisco Valdes, Minerva Tolentino, Dr. Danilo Salcedo, Nerissa Salcedo, Leni Humffray, Howard Humffray, Jovencio Salonoy, Gordon Hobbis, Tito Vicario, Maj Ryan Glaraga, Edelberto Tacad, Lt. Oliver Gabito, Jeffy Laag, Peter Louie Salvatierra, Esmeraldo Salvio, Voltaire Borja, Alberto Garcia, Jundy Ricky Jandayan, Vicente Alcayra and Isidro Urriquia.
Provincial Government volunteers are Dr. Cheryl Faith Tagab, Dr. Teodosia I. Virtucio, Dr. Ranillo Gallego, Dr. Crisostomo Romero, Wynne Octura, Maria Filomena Butalid, Eduvigis Calabria, Corazon Sarigumba, Lani Fe A. Lungay, Prima Obligado and Cpt Kristine Abegail Cayco and municipal health officer Dr. Julita Cogo.
Vice-Mayor Pedro Fuertes, along with town administrator Noel Hormachuelos, SB Mmeber Felix M. Fudolig, also attended the program.
