PILAR, Bohol – Mayor Nita T. Cubrado will be honored today as the first lady chief executive of this rice granary town during the 53rd foundation today. But Mayor Cubrado said that one of the significant events of the foundation’s fête will be the solemnizing of 30 couples’ sacrament of marriage in a ceremony prepared for them. It’s an honor for her to do the officiating of the wedding so “their living together” for so long without formality will be blessed, she said.
She said in an interview that a holy mass will be said and a parade will follow wherein she’ll be conferred with a rare distinction as the first lady mayor here. Cubrado said she accepts such tribute to her with all humility but said she’ll use this as her inspiration to work hard for the welfare of her constituents under her watch.
Yesterday’s event include the “Tabo sa Pilar” at the municipal grounds wherein the display of agricultural and other products were bought earlier than expected. The buyers are mostly from Tagbilaran, she said. Today’s program of activities will cap with the annual search for Miss Pilar 2015 and donning of crown of the fortunate hopeful in the evening, she said.
