BIEN-UNIDO, BOHOL – It is said that in every beauty and brain competition only one woman can walk away with the tiara, honor, pride and glamor that come with it. And for this year’s edition of Miss Bien-Unido Tourism crown went to Maria Theresa Hermachuelos representing Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Tech-Voc Fisheries School. She has not only won the five-man judges’ verdict but also the affection of the audience after she was adjudged as Darling of the Crowd. She also bagged the Miss Silka award.
Hermachuelos was crowned by past title holder assisted by Mayor Rene Borenaga and other town officials during the jampacked crowd cheering their favorite bets. Mary Ann Aton, representing the same school, settled for First runner-up; Rolandmarie Boniel of Holy Child Academy, second; Kimberly Anne Labao, also representing HCA. Third; and Christine Pielken of B-Unido Academy, fourth. Labao also harvested other minor awards: Miss Congeniality, and Miss Casual Interview. Aton grabbed the Best in Production Number and Best in Production Number Outfit and Best in Playsuit and Best in Long Gown. Rolandmarie Boniel won other awards — Miss Smart, Miss Save & Earn and Social Media award. Johna Mae Perez is Best in Talent. Pielken also adjudged as Miss Photogenic while Carosus of HCA got the Face of the Night award. Mayor Borenaga welcome the visitors and thank the organizers of the pageant that is considered part of the annual feast day celebration honoring the Holy Child, the town’s patron saint. (rvo)
