TAGBILARAN CITY – The aspirants of the Muya sa Tagbilaran (MST) are divided on the issue of same-sex marriage.
Barangay Manga bet Queeneth Barcelona said she favors same-sex marriage, arguing that having relationship with same sex must be respected. It’s their choice, she said in interview.
She said that she has no problem with it as long as the persons concerned favoring such marriage love each other.
When asked if she would go for it when time comes, she said in the negative.
But for Michelle T. Juguan, who represents barangay Dampas, believe those who enaged in same-sex marriage or like relationship are also human being must be respected.
But it doesn’t mean she’s in favor of it.
It will recalled that candidates for Miss Bohol Sandugo last year were also divided but most of them are not in favor of same sex-marriage that is gaining ground in some countries like the United States.
The hopefuls for the MST this year are: Leslie May N. Ranario of barangay Tiptip; Mykee Alanis P. Tuyor, Poblacion II; Christine Jay T. Ancog, Dao; Maygan Joyce A. Besa, Bo-ol; Ma. Monica D. Gomez, Mansasa; and Natalie Belle O. Mc Gaw, Cogon.
Melody Sanchez, Poblacion III; Perlie L. Jeverola, Booy; Mary Ia Rene I. Lagrada, San Isidro; Lady Grace M. Manolong, Cabawan; Jasmine Jaeckel, Taloto; Jonalyn S. Melleza, Poblacion I; and Erika Sofia N. Karcher, Ubujan.
The aspirants for this year’s MST edition were pesented by city government with pageant organizers led by Mayor Baba Yap’s wife Jane during the 451st Sandugo celebration yesterday morning at barangay Bo-ol. (rvo)
