PRES. CARLOS P. GARCIA, Bohol Police authorities have noted that rape cases that are probably caused by abuse of illegal substances are on the
rise.This came as the new case of such crime was reported in this island town, northernmost part of Bohol. The new victim was a 14-year old lass whose
identity is withheld by the police. But the identity of the suspect was divulged, Ullysess Negrito, 26, single and a resident of barangay San Jose, in this town, police report said. Initial probe said that the victim was on her way home past 7 PM the other day from a store when the suspect blocked her way. And the suspect grabbed here by the hand and waylaid her on the grassy area under cover of darkness then the suspect succeeded his evil intention.
The report said that the rape was witnessed by her younger brother but has done nothing. But this could not independlently confirmed as of this writing. Her brother reported the incident t the police that led to the arrest of the suspect. He is now put behind bars of this town. The past two weeks, police authorities collared a suspect, Junrey Mahusay Lanoy, 28, who believed to be high on drugs, sexually molested a 14-year old girl past 7 PM in barangay Bonbonon of this town, police said. As if the same modus with that of Negrito?s exploits, suspect blocked the the girl on her way home. She was taking a walk after the habal-habal she was riding just up to the corner when the suspect blocked her way and forced her to the grassy area where she was raped.
The young girl, who was no match to resist from suspect?s force, was stabbed in her neck by the suspect using the sharp knife. The police who rescued her upon the report of the witnesses failed to bring the victim alive when she was expired on arrival at municipal hospital. The hot pursuit agains the suspect yielded his arrest. The suspect is facing rape and murder charges filed against him.
Another victim, 13-year old (whose identity was withheld) of sexual assault is reported in Grcia-Hernandez town last week. The same modus was applied
by the suspect identified as one Masong Ido, Jr, a resident of barangay Balili, Jagna town but he was still at large, police said. The young victim a resient of mountain barangay Tabuan of Garcia-Hernandez was also n her way home from school when she was attacked by the suspect.
Based on the first quarter report, the Regional Peace and Order Council, there have been a total of 431 cases of rape. But there were no details as to number of such cases by prvince.
