TAGBILARAN CITY – Daring lone perpetrator barged into Sharan Trading along B. Inting street in this city yesterday noon just across the City Square and carted away a gray bag containing some Php350,000 from the owner, police report said. The store owner identified as one Danny Mirchandi, of legal age, married and an Indian national told police that the unknown robber used a hammer in gaining entry as he was about to close his store at past 12 noon yesterday.
The suspect, about 5’5” in height, having long hair and wearing green T-shirt and brown pants forcefully entered and “deliberately attacked him,” smashing glass showcase with the hammer, Merchandi told the police. The suspect successfully carted away the bag containing the cash and the “victim tried to stop but failed to do so for the suspect had a hammer and the suspect also able to hurt the victim using the said equipment,” police said.
The suspect ran towards the hospital and some bystanders tried to chase him but to no avail. The report said that the store owner was alone since most of her salesladies were off when the robbery took place. Unfotunately, the closed circuit TV malfunctioned when the robbery happened, the report said.
When city police station received a call from the victim at around 12:45 PM, the city tactical operation center led by PSInsp Adriano Bacus along with investigator P01 Jeus Francis G. Monton and Quick Reaction Team and Theft and Robbery intelligence operatives immediately responded to the said call.
Police are now looking into the incident.
Police said that most of the crimes took place on Sundays considering that it is a rest day. And most of the crimes committed happened between 5-6 in the afternoon. (w/ Report from Ern pahayahay)
