TAGBILARAN CITY The war against illegal drugs here and entire province of Bohol is worsening with another police officer killed in an attempted raid of a suspected illegal drug den Friday. This came as one police officer was gunned down while three others wounded in a raid purportedly in house where the pot session was going on, the report said. The suspect identified as Artemio Tare, Jr. of killing police P01 Michael June Ejoc of the Provincial Intelligence based in Camp Dagohoy here was wounded when he was hit in his stomach portion, according to police update. Police authorities urged hospitals and clinic to report any suspecting person who may be seeking treatment for his stomach gunshot wound, the report update said, while hot pursuit to capture Tare is still on going with check points are set up yesterday. P01 Michael June Ejoc was hit in his head by a volley of fire from inside the house where the suspect identified as Artemio Tare, Jr., alis Jun along Franklin street, sitio Ubos, Poblacion I, of this capital city at past 10 AM, according to P01 Jess Francis Monton. Police chief George Vale collaborated Monton?s statement in a radio interview yesterday morning. About hours later, Ejoc was declared dead at past 12
noon Friday after he was rushed to the hospital, Monton said. His three other companions —- P01 Rinan Tagotongan, who said need to be operated to get the bullet form his body as of this writing while P03 Julito Jasmin and P01 Carlito Gamalo are already safe in a separate hospital, Vale said.
House owner Belinda Itong Tesorero, 34, single and said to the companion of the suspect inside the house is now under police custody for further investigation, Vale said, adding that she may be facing a separate suit. Vale said that they?re readying a case for murder against Tare. The said house was only meters away from the city police station housed in former city hall. Vale said that the policemen were responding to the tip of pot session was going on at that time which later turned out to be positive after verification. There was no need for court?s issuing search warrant since the information of actual pot session is positive. Camp Dagohoy immediately dispatched the four policemen who are all members of the Provincial Intelligence Branch. They instantly conducted the raid of the place where the pot session den is located even without the court?s imprimatur, Vale said. Ejoc was reportedly the first to come nearthe house
and identify himself and talked to the house owner (Tesorero) where the suspect (Tare) resides. But they were greeted with gunfire from the inside of the house,
hitting Ejoc dwon. While in the process his raiding companions come close to the house another gunshots fired from the inside hitting them.
It was unclear who fired back when, according to latest update of the police, Tare was hit on his stomach and evaded being caught. The persistent campaign against illegal drugs trade in Bohol has yielded positive results with the death of drug lord indetified as Romulo Caño alias ?Inday Buno? and arrest of his followers as a result of the raid in his two residences in Ubay town last week. The police is still probing in the killing of one Fernando Verula Jr. alyas ?Tambok? who was killed lately along Zamora building, this city by fellow drugs dealers for allegedly failure to remit durgs proceeds.
Meanwhile, former governor Victor de la Serna appeare to be espousing the Duterte?s way of solving illegal drugs trade during an interview with Engr. Maurito Lim’s radio program yesterday. Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City apparently succeeded in his campaign eradicating the drugs menace. He is reportedy accused of summary execution of illegal drugs traders by the Commission on Human Rights. Dela Serna said that extreme situation needs extreme solutions. Though he did not categorically say it is or must be applied in Bohol. He cited a case in point of what PCInsp Roland lavisto told him of a drug related case in Clarin town that was dismissed. For her part, Poblacion I Arlene Karaan said in radio interview over DyTR that she already adviced Tesorero to stop the illegal drugs use, sayig she knows who this Tesorero is.She questioned why the police conducted drug related
