TUBIGON – The Police Regional Office 7, through Regional Director PCSupt Prudencio Tom Bañas announced to Mayor Marlon R. Amila the selection of the Tubigon Muncipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (TMADAC) as the “Most Outstanding MADAC in Central Visayas for 2015”.
This was contained in a letter that was e-mailed to the municipal mayor announcing to him the information and extending an invitation for him to be at the awarding rites at the regional headquarters in Camp Sergio Osmeña, Sr., Cebu City on November 23, 2015 to honor those individuals and groups that have shown remarkable efforts in the fight against illegal drugs and to encourage them to keep on supporting the PNP and other law-enforcement agencies in this cause.
The event is in line with the annual observance of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week (DAP Week) from November 15 to November 21, 2015 with the theme, “Let’s Develop Our Lives, Our Communities, Our Identity Without Drugs”.
The PNP Regional Director emphasized that the presence and participation of Mayor Marlon R. Amila at the awarding rites played a huge role in strengthening the partnership of the PNP and the Local Government Units as both pursue a drug-free and prosperous community.
Mayor Marlon R. Amila was proud and happy to receive the Plaque of Recognition that announced to the world the selection of the Tubigon MADAC as the Most Outstanding Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council for 2015 in Central Visayas.
A comparative data, by year from 2010 up to 2015, on drug cases filed before the courts by the Tubigon PNP Station shows this information, viz: 2010, 8 drug cases; 2011, 5 drug cases; 2012, 10 drug cases; 2013, 6 drug cases; 2014, 20 drug cases; and 2015, 50 drug cases.
The Tubigon MADAC is chaired by Mayor Marlon R. Amila. Its key personnel includes representations from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Liga ng mga Barangay, Sangguniang Bayan Chair of the Committee on Youth, DepEd, Philippine Coast Guard, Religious Sector and the Municipal Health Office.
